Job Description
The Department of Conservation (DOC) seeks a hands-on conservation professional for a short-term role on Rakiura Stewart Island, from 21 September 2026 to 15 January 2027. You will conduct field surveys, monitor the Critically Endangered Pukunui/Southern New Zealand Dotterel, and collect and manage data. Based in huts and campsites, you’ll travel for rostered shifts between Invercargill and Rakiura.
