Senior Reporting Analyst Role type : Permanent, full-time Location : Wellington City Salary band & range : GSR D: $102,953 - $120,365 depending on skills and experience About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga This is a unique opportunity to combine financial expertise, portfolio analysis, and business partnering in a role that directly supports investment decisions across MPI's Agriculture & Investment Services Directorate. Working across a complex portfolio of departmental and non-departmental funds, you'll transform financial and operational data into meaningful insights that support governance, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. You'll also help improve reporting frameworks and build analytical capability across the business. Key responsibilities include: Lead fund performance and financial reporting Deliver portfolio insights and executive reporting Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis Improve reporting tools, frameworks and data quality Partner with leaders on investment decisions and governance About You - Mōu You'll be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working with large datasets, improving reporting processes, and delivering insights that influence decision-making. This role will suit someone currently working in a Chartered Accounting, Finance Business Partner, Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Senior Reporting role who is looking to apply their expertise across a diverse and high-profile investment portfolio. You will bring: Chartered Accountant qualification or equivalent financial expertise Advanced Excel capability, including complex modelling and analysis Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting experience Experience using Power BI or similar reporting platforms Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights You do not need to meet every requirement to apply. You’ll join the Business Support team, which provides financial oversight, reporting, analysis, and business performance insights across Agriculture & Investment Services. The team works closely with leaders, fund managers, and finance partners to ensure robust financial management, high-quality reporting, and informed decision-making.
