The Opportunity In this broad tactical engineering position, you will play a key role in design, standards, technical assurance, quality assurance, and site work. Joining an agile and aspirational Network Design and Engineering Team, you will contribute to the development of new ways of working, devising new design and workflow processes. With clear direction and part of a team that links asset management and project delivery you will sit at the heart of a busy and focused network. With offices in Paraparaumu and Levin, you can choose where to be based while joining a progressive, community-owned organisation committed to investing in its people and its network. The Role As part of the Network Design & Engineering Team you will provide tactical engineering support across the broader business, enabling effective engineering decisions that improves network performance and directly benefits Electra's customers. Day to day your role will include: Undertaking design for a range of distribution projects across 11kv, 33kv and 400v - both overhead and underground Collaborating with and providing technical advice to Service Delivery related to both Network Initiated and Customer Initiated projects Obtaining relevant approvals, consents and permissions for designs Contributing to the continual development of network standards and specifications Engaging with consultants and contractors while ensuring designs are practical and fit for purpose About You Whether you are looking to step into design or seeking a more varied role, you will have direct exposure working on overhead and/or underground projects within electricity distribution. This may see you coming from the field and wanting to move off the tools. Alternatively, you may be with a consultancy or contractor working in design, and seeking greater contribution to overall decision making. With a passion for problem-solving and a continuous improvement, you will be motivated to find innovative ways to improve project efficiency. Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders, you will bring fresh ideas and have a willingness to learn new technology and software.
