Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, you’ll shape how Aotearoa views Chorus, fibre and the role it plays in our daily lives. You will lead a small but mighty team of communications professionals who are focussed on protecting and strengthening our social licence, embedding purpose into our external persona and supporting key business initiatives with their communications expertise. Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience You are a collaborative and pragmatic communications leader who enjoys combining strategic thinking, trusted advice and hands‑on delivery. To step into this role, you’ll bring: Experience leading a communications, external affairs or media relations team Proven success developing and delivering strategic communications plans on a range of issues that strengthen reputation and build trust Strong media relations experience, including navigating sensitive, complex or high‑profile issues dynamically Experience providing communications counsel to executives and senior leaders People leadership experience, with a focus on coaching, developing and supporting high‑performing teams Strong stakeholder management skills, sound judgement and the ability to know when to lead and when to elevate If you’re energised by the opportunity to shape trusted narratives, build confidence in critical infrastructure and help bring a purpose‑led strategy to life, we’d love to hear from you.
