Charge Nurse Manager – Operating Theatres About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Perioperative Charge Nurse Manager to lead their General, Gynaecology and Plastics (GGP) theatre team. This is a permanent, full-time leadership opportunity, working predominantly Monday to Friday day shifts within a modern private hospital environment. Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you'll join an established and supportive perioperative leadership team. You will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 25 experienced Registered Nurses and RNFSAs, ensuring the efficient management of people, resources and day-to-day operations while maintaining exceptional clinical standards. This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact by fostering a positive team culture, partnering closely with surgeons and anaesthetists, and driving outstanding patient outcomes. About You To be successful in this role you will have: Current New Zealand Registered Nurse registration with a valid APC. A minimum of five years' experience scrubbing for General, Gynaecology and Plastics surgery (robotics experience is advantageous). At least three years' experience leading an operating theatre team within New Zealand or a comparable healthcare system (e.g. Australia, UK or Ireland). A postgraduate qualification in perioperative practice and/or management is desirable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop high-performing teams. Excellent communication, sound clinical judgement and a strong commitment to quality, patient safety and continuous improvement. The ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams and with specialist clinicians.
