Court Registry Officer – Dunedin, Fixed Term Full Time Job Overview Te Haeata/The Opportunity: As a Court Registry Officer, you are an important cog in the justice machine. You will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court and liaise with multiple stakeholders including members of the judiciary, lawyers and the public. The role offers a diversity of duties and the chance to deliver people‑centred justice services for all. Responsibilities Case management – ensuring files are accurate and up to date, handling a large component of data entry and sound decision‑making. Court taking – running court sessions in English and Te Reo Māori, working closely with the judiciary in the courtroom and chambers and managing general court administration. Customer service – interacting with customers on any court‑related matter via face‑to‑face, phone or email. Required Skills and Experience Resilient – capable of working on sensitive cases at high volumes and a fast pace. Detail oriented and observant – ability to maintain accurate case information. Self‑aware – confident working across a range of situations with maturity and positivity. Multi‑task – manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly. Willing to learn – ready to adapt to changing legislation and processes and respond to feedback. Excellent communicator with good English and confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation. Confidence using audio‑visual equipment is desirable. Enjoy helping others – flexible, calm and undaunted by the busy courtroom environment.
