Job Description
About Us We are a proudly NZ owned and operated KiwiSaver and wealth manager. We were founded on the belief that all Kiwis should have access to simple, easy to understand financial advice and socially responsible investments that deliver long-term profitability. Ultimately, we exist to educate, empower, and advise Kiwis, to help them achieve materially better financial outcomes at retirement. At our core, we are a purpose‑driven business, caring deeply about making a difference. Our passionate team plays a crucial role in bringing our mission to life. We foster a culture of idea‑sharing and empowerment, encouraging our people to lead initiatives that positively impact our business, community, and members. About The Role The Sales Development Representative Manager is responsible for the growth, performance and enablement of the Sales Development Representative (SDR) function, including outbound SDR activity, inbound calling activity, and Dunedin‑based team members who report into the role. The role has a clear mandate to design and implement the operating foundations the team needs to perform: consistent training documentation, fit‑for‑purpose tooling, reporting oversight, and performance rhythms that help leaders and team members understand, improve and sustain performance. Core to this role is being a leader, champion and motivator to the team. This includes building capability, creating clarity, improving ways of working, partnering with stakeholders to deliver better systems and processes, and ensuring the team remains agile, compliant and customer‑focused as Generate continues to grow. The role also carries leadership responsibility for the Dunedin office, including maintaining regular presence through monthly travel where practical, ensuring the team is connected, supported, and operating consistently with the broader SDR function. Lead and evolve the SDR function, driving strategy, performance and capability across outbound, inbound and Dunedin teams. Develop and implement scalable training, onboarding and enablement programmes that improve capability, consistency and speed to competency. Build the operational foundations of the function through best‑practice tooling, AI adoption, reporting and performance frameworks. Lead leaders, coaching Team Leaders and building a high‑performing, engaged and accountable team culture. Drive data‑led performance, designing meaningful reporting, KPIs and performance rhythms that support coaching, forecasting and continuous improvement. Partner across the business with Salesforce, Technology, Operations, Compliance and Distribution to deliver practical process and system improvements. Improve sales effectiveness and operational efficiency by optimising lead management, outbound processes and customer pathways. Champion continuous improvement and innovation, embedding new ways of working that enhance team performance and customer outcomes. Ensure compliance and operational excellence, maintaining robust governance, risk management and consistent customer interactions. Provide leadership across Auckland and Dunedin, ensuring alignment, connection and consistent execution across geographically distributed teams. About You You will be someone who can create the systems, processes and leadership disciplines that enable teams to perform consistently. You'll lead our Sales Development function across Auckland and Dunedin, supporting four Team Leaders and around 30 SDRs while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to continually improve how we work. Success in this role will come from your ability to build scalable ways of working—developing best‑practice onboarding and training programmes, introducing meaningful reporting and performance rhythms leveraging AI and technology to improve productivity, and coaching leaders to have honest, data‑driven performance conversations. You will be someone who enjoys solving operational challenges, leading through change, and creating environments where people can thrive. You'll be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, questioning the status quo, and implementing practical improvements that lift capability, consistency and performance over the long term. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role managing a sales, service or a call centre team, preferably in financial services. Established track record of leading large teams to exceed targets and improve performance. Proven leadership ability with experience in coaching, training and inspiring teams through growth and change. Experience implementing AI, knowledge management or digital enablement tools within a sales or service environment. Proven ability to lead a high‑performing team through growth, change and improvement. Why This is The Place for You We offer a hybrid model that empowers you to balance work and home life seamlessly. Competitive base salary + bonus package paid twice a year, additional KiwiSaver contribution, corporate benefits, and more! Well‑being benefits including health insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and discounted gym membership. Access to ongoing training & support. Proactive Health & Wellbeing Committee that organises a full calendar of events and initiatives that support Social Connection, Community, and Mental Health. Comfortable and central Auckland CBD office location. Applicants for this position should hold a valid visa to work full‑time in NZ. #J-18808-Ljbffr
