We're looking for an experienced Field Service & Technical Sales Engineer to work alongside our South Island Regional Manager and play a key role in growing our South Island business. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty, solving complex mechanical problems, and building strong customer relationships. While hands-on field service forms the foundation of the role, you'll also become a trusted technical adviser, helping customers improve the reliability, efficiency and performance of their equipment while identifying opportunities to deliver additional value. Engineering. Service. Customer Solutions. You'll work across a wide range of industrial vacuum pumps, blowers and rotating equipment, providing: Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing. Breakdown diagnosis and repairs. Equipment overhauls and rebuilds. Installation and commissioning. Technical troubleshooting and fault finding on customer sites. Practical engineering advice and recommendations. Equipment audits and reliability improvements. Technical quotations and solution-based recommendations. Identification of upgrade, replacement and optimisation opportunities. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own customer base while working closely with the South Island regional manager to develop new opportunities and continue growing VABS throughout the South Island. About You You’ll likely come from a background in: Industrial vacuum pumps. Positive displacement blowers. Centrifugal blowers. Industrial pumps. Rotating equipment. Mechanical fitting. Maintenance engineering. More importantly, you’ll be someone who: Has a minimum level 4 NZ Recognised Engineering Qualification Has strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Enjoys working directly with customers. Is confident discussing technical solutions with engineers, maintenance teams and plant managers. Has a practical, solutions-focused approach to solving problems. Takes ownership of their work and manages their workload independently. Builds long-term relationships through professionalism and trust. Naturally identifies opportunities to improve customer operations and equipment reliability. Has strong written and verbal communication skills. Holds a current New Zealand driver's licence. Previous vacuum pump experience is highly desirable but not essential.
