Medical Advisor - Orthopaedic | New Zealand Use your Orthopaedic Expertise in a different way! ACC is seeking experienced Vocationally Registered Orthopaedic Surgeons to join our Clinical Services team as Medical Advisors. Apply your clinical judgement to complex injury, treatment and rehabilitation decisions that help injured New Zealanders achieve better outcomes - without stepping away from orthopaedics. Many Medical Advisors continue clinical practice alongside this role, and we're open to discussing flexible arrangements to fit your existing commitments. Review specialist reports, imaging, clinical records and treatment information Provide expert advice on diagnosis, causation, treatment and rehabilitation needs Support ACC decision makers with clear, evidence-based guidance Collaborate with other Medical Advisors on complex cases Contribute to clinical quality and continuous improvement An experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon who enjoys solving complex clinical problems and communicating specialist opinion clearly. What we offer| Mō ACC $245,036 salary + 9% employer superannuation Flexible location, hours (within 8am–6pm, Mon–Fri) and working arrangements No on-call, acute rosters, ward rounds or after-hours commitments Pro-rata CPD allowance and professional fee reimbursement Ongoing professional development and peer collaboration Current MCNZ Vocational Registration in Orthopaedic Surgery and a current Annual Practising Certificate Contemporary clinical practice experience Strong analytical and critical thinking skills A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams A genuine interest in rehabilitation, recovery and improving outcomes for injured people Experience across public, private or mixed orthopaedic practice settings is welcomed We acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders — past, present and emerging — of the lands and waters on which RACP members and staff live, learn and work.
