Design Engineer - Power Systems

Great remuneration and benefits with 6.5% superannuation, medical insurance and more Join a business with a strong project pipeline extending through to 2030 The role: As a Design Engineer within our Power Systems team, you'll develop and deliver engineering solutions for generator and power infrastructure projects across New Zealand. Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you'll provide technical design, integration and engineering support from concept through to project delivery. Key responsibilities of this role include: Develop electrical, mechanical and control system designs for Power Systems projects, ensuring solutions are technically robust, compliant and fit for purpose. Produce and review engineering documentation, specifications and technical deliverables to support successful project outcomes. Provide technical advice and support during tender and design-build processes, including scope reviews, risk assessment and commercial input. Support project delivery through design reviews, site support, commissioning activities and resolution of engineering challenges. Developing experience with our international brand and broadening your expertise across electrical, mechanical and structural engineering disciplines. We're looking for someone with: A tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or a related Engineering discipline Experience in power systems, power generation or related engineering environments Experience with or a strong understanding of tender requirements, including design and build processes, legislation, compliance obligations and commercial considerations Experience developing practical and commercially viable engineering solutions Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills The ability to work collaboratively across engineering, project and customer teams Exposure to Caterpillar power systems products and technologies would be highly regarded About Terra Cat Terra Cat, the authorised Caterpillar dealer, has a national network of facilities throughout New Zealand.
