He Pānui Tūranga - a call to a Beginning Kaiako

Omanu Preschool
Tauranga, BOP, NZ Full Time
Reference: 2ec0ba3dad6c3e13

Job Description

Full time, Permanent Early learning / kōhanga reo, Certificated teacher, Belonging / Mana Whenua, Contribution / Mana Tangata, Communication / Mana Reo, Exploration / Mana Aōtōroa, Well‑being / Mana Atua A calling, not a job heart‑led practice In our preschool, the whenua remembers every gentle word, every calm breath, every moment a kaiako kneels to meet a child’s eyes with presence and aroha. We are seeking a full‑time beginning teacher who feels called to this kind of mahi - relational, intentional, and grounded. You are a new graduate or beginning kaiako with ECE qualification (ideally a three‑year NZ ECE degree), strong early years knowledge, and a living understanding of Te Whāriki. You are legally able to work in Aotearoa; we are not an accredited employer, so overseas applicants must already hold NZ work rights. You are reliable, committed full‑time, and flexible with shifts, ready to work across opening and closing times. You arrive each day emotionally steady, able to self‑regulate and uphold a calm, kind presence. At the heart of our practice are the rights of the child, to be seen, heard, safe, loved, protected, guided, and held with dignity. These rights are not theoretical; they are lived in every interaction, every decision, every moment of teaching. Your CV must speak to us. This is not a place to collect a paycheck. If you are seeking “just a job,” this is not your centre. Our tamariki deserve a kaiako who wants to be here, who turns up each day with heart, ready to be the best version of themselves, ready to grow, serve, and honour their mana. If your heart feels called to our whānau, we welcome your application. How to apply Please send your CV, and direct enquiries to: #J-18808-Ljbffr
