This is why The Booms Care Home located in Thames , is searching for an Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our community. This is a Permanent Part time role , working on an average of 18.7 hours/week . Rotating roster covering Monday – Sunday. Hours of work: 1:30pm to 6:00pm. Total Hours- 112 hours over a 6 weeks roster cycle. In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the Booms Care Home residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities. Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents' individual activities programme. Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families. Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme. About You An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred. Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable. Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents. Demonstrate outstanding communication skills. A fun personality with a creative flair. A clean, full driver’s licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings. Must be equipped to work in the Dementia unit. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
