Job Description
What You’ll Do Lead engineering, facilities, utilities, capital project execution and maintenance support to the site. Develop asset care roadmaps for these areas to ensure expected equipment and process reliability is achieved. Set strategy and manage technical resource allocation process. In collaboration with key business functions, innovate and execute maintenance and engineering solutions that deliver productivity, quality and efficiencies that meet and exceed cost improvement targets. Attract, develop and retain a diverse qualified staff through effective training, succession planning strategies and ongoing performance feedback. Drive a culture of engagement and inclusivity throughout the organization through clear communication, collaboration and recognition. Design site long‑range and short‑range capital plans ensuring the site is equipped with the infrastructure needed to meet or exceed capacity objectives. Monitor quality of implementation against overall project / program / site objectives. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all functions of the organization and resolve cross‑functional challenges while influencing these functions to create the best possible solution for Abbott. Ensure compliance to all applicable business policies, laws and regulations. Establish short and long‑range engineering, facilities, utilities and maintenance strategic objectives for the site. Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement. Manage contractors and vendors executing work at the site. Manage the financial performance of the department in accordance with the planned budgets and develop strategies for cost improvement. Manage site capital and project expense plan and ensure utilities are provided to site operations at all times. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, Technical discipline, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree preferred. Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Proven ability to manage multiple engineering projects in a complex environment. Well‑organised, technologically adept, and able to drive priorities effectively. Location: This position is based in Waikato District > Pokeno. Physical Requirements: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day).
