About the role Senior Cadastral Surveyor – Level 2. The role is part of Land Information New Zealand’s (LINZ) Property Rights group, ensuring that cadastre‐integrated surveys meet the regulatory standards set by the Surveyor‑General. Key responsibilities Apply professional judgement at a national level and support complex cadastral survey decisions reliably. Complete and advise on complex cadastral survey matters, exercising sound professional judgement. Make informed decisions on the application of the Cadastral Survey Rules. Build technical confidence across the Property Rights teams. Drive first‑time compliance and strengthen technical capability within the team. Champion continuous improvement and shape technical guidance and education initiatives. Build strong relationships with the surveying profession to ensure high‑quality regulatory outcomes and customer service. Skills & Experience Bachelor of Surveying or equivalent and current Licensed Cadastral Surveyor status under the Cadastral Survey Act 2002. Practical cadastral surveying experience. Strong working knowledge of the Cadastral Survey Rules and their practical application. Knowledge of survey records, spatial and geodetic systems, processes and LandOnline. Sound analytical, problem‑solving and professional judgement skills. Ability to provide clear, trusted technical advice on complex matters. Strong relationship‑building skills and a customer‑focused approach. Confidence with coaching, mentoring and building capability in others. Salary Full‑time annual salary range: $120,000 to $130,000, depending on skills and experience.
