Job Description
Position Summary Based in our Blenheim office, you will support customers across Blenheim and Nelson as part of a diverse, high‑performing team helping our customers achieve housing and social stability. Responsibilities Work directly with a portfolio of customers and their whānau to build relationships and ensure their housing and wellbeing needs are met and continue to be met as they change over time. Support low and medium needs customers and manage disruptive behaviour situations. Hold difficult and courageous conversations with customers and stakeholders when required. Visit customers at their Kāinga Ora homes and, from time to time, attend meetings with key stakeholders to ensure tailored support and services stay in place for our customers and their whānau. Work with tenants on rent arrears and debt collection/recovery. Travel throughout the region, including regular travel between Blenheim and Nelson. Use your full and clean New Zealand driver's licence to travel (pool vehicle provided). What You Will Bring Relationship‑building skills, including experience building relationships with customers from all backgrounds and walks of life. Ability to de‑escalate highly emotional situations and conversations and solve problems. Comfort and skill in working on rent arrears and debt recovery. Technical fluency to quickly learn new tools and systems. Experience in tenancy, emergency or social housing space (advantage). Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act 1986 is an added advantage. Passion for supporting customers with challenging housing and wellbeing needs. Cultural awareness, particularly in working with Māori and Pasifika communities.
