Finance Manager (12-month fixed-term) in PwC New Zealand Advisory. Supports the financial performance, commercial discipline and strategic decision‑making of the Advisory business. Requires a qualified finance professional who can connect financial results to business drivers, risks, market context and strategic priorities. The role emphasizes lifting the quality, consistency and commercial value of the team’s outputs, managing workflow, reviewing deliverables, improving reporting discipline and delivering value‑adding insight. An AI‑first mindset is expected in Planning & Performance work, with a focus on using AI, automation and analytics tools to improve reporting speed, quality and consistency, reduce manual effort and enable higher‑value business partnering. Prior experience with AI or automation is preferred but not required; curiosity, adaptability and willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities\n

  • Lead month‑end reporting for Advisory, including analysis of revenue, margin, costs, utilisation, WIP, debtors and key performance indicators.
  • \n
  • Partner with Advisory leaders and senior stakeholders to provide clear financial insight, challenge assumptions constructively and support commercial decision‑making.
  • \n
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes, including scenario modelling and analysis of risks, assumptions and opportunities.
  • \n
  • Identify performance trends and improvement opportunities across profitability, working capital, revenue pipeline and operational activity.
  • \n
  • Use approved AI, automation and analytics tools to improve reporting quality, reduce manual effort and support more insightful planning and performance conversations.

Skills and Qualifications\n
    \n
  • CA ANZ, CPA or equivalent qualified accountant status, with a strong grounding in management accounting, financial analysis, forecasting and performance reporting.
  • \n
  • Around 5–8+ years of relevant finance experience, ideally across FP&A, management accounting, commercial finance or business partnering.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to connect financial results to business drivers and explain insights clearly to non‑finance audiences.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with curiosity and willingness to adopt AI‑first ways of working using approved tools responsibly.
  • \n
