Job Description

Cranford Hospice provides specialist palliative care with compassion and dignity to the Hawke’s Bay community. We’re looking for a motivated, proactive and innovative Grants & Funding Lead to join our Development and Engagement team. Grants play a vital role in helping Cranford Hospice continue providing exceptional care and support for people living with a terminal illness and their whānau. This is a flexible 15-hour-per-week role, perfect for someone who enjoys research, writing and building funding opportunities that make a real difference. What you’ll do Research and identify grant, trust and funding opportunities that align with Cranford Hospice’s priorities Develop a proactive pipeline of funding opportunities and think creatively about new ways to secure support Write compelling grant applications, funding proposals and submissions Prepare high-quality accountability reports that demonstrate the impact of our work Manage grant timelines, reporting requirements and funding records Work collaboratively across the organisation to gather stories, outcomes, budgets and information that strengthen funding applications Build positive relationships with funders and contribute ideas that support a culture of innovation and growth Be an active member of a supportive, energetic team that is passionate about making a difference What we’re looking for Experience in grant writing, fundraising, research, communications or a related field An exceptional writer who can turn information into compelling funding applications Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Someone who enjoys researching opportunities and thinking outside the square A proactive self-starter who can work independently while also being a collaborative team player A positive, solutions-focused attitude with a genuine passion for making an impact Experience working with grants or charitable funding is highly desirable, however we are open to applicants with transferable skills and a willingness to learn Why should you join us?
