Job Description

About the Role As a Breast Screen Recruitment and Retention, you will assist and work alongside the Equity Team Lead and Breast Screen Northland team to ensure maximum participation from eligible women in the Breast Screen Aotearoa programme with a priority focus on the needs of Māori and under screened women, to support, educate and promote in the communities of northland to encourage these women to attend screening. You will play a vital role in increasing access to breast screening. The role offers the chance to build meaningful community relationships, promote health equity, and directly contribute to the early detection of breast cancer. Based at Mauri Ora Breast Clinic in Whangārei, this role is supported by a close-knit team of three Recruitment, Retention Health Promoters, while also working alongside a wider multidisciplinary clinical team on site. You will have the opportunity to build strong relationships with regional iwi and community providers, collaborating across Te Tai Tokerau to improve breast screening participation and health outcomes for wāhine and whānau. In addition, you will also have: Experience in building community relationships Proven knowledge and experience of working with Māori, and organisations within the Northland area Experience in forming working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders Proven network and relationship experience Proven skills in data collection and reporting for Microsoft Office applications word and excel Whilst not essential, knowledge and experience in a health service environment is advantageous Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
