Job Description
Overview Wellington-based, permanent, full-time analyst role focused on assessing the performance of New Zealand's health system. The role involves transforming complex data into clear, evidence-based information to support monitoring and decision-making by senior leaders and Ministers. You will contribute to high-quality analytical work and help deliver analyses that underpin effective monitoring, while developing analytical capability and contributing to continuous improvement. Responsibilities Deliver data analysis, monitoring, and reporting to support system performance and inform decision-making. Extract and analyse data (using tools such as R, SQL, Snowflake, Qlik and Power BI) to generate clear, actionable insights. Develop data visualisations and communicate findings to a range of stakeholders in a clear and engaging way. Support continuous improvement of data processes, tools, and monitoring capability across the team. Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. data science, statistics, health) or equivalent experience. Experience or strong interest in data analysis and working with analytical tools (e.g. R, SQL, Power BI, Excel). Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information simply. Strong organisational skills, curiosity, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
