Prosecution Support Officer — Whangārei Police Station — Permanent, Full Time Role outline: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) within the Police Prosecution Service (PPS). The PSO provides administrative support to the PPS office to enable its effective operation. Responsibilities Process and administratively manage prosecution files, including recording and extracting relevant information. Check data accuracy and completeness; administer follow-ups as directed by PPS staff. Utilise and manage databases and spreadsheets; respond to and/or direct queries within the PPS office. Build knowledge of Police and Ministry of Justice processes, databases and operating procedures to support the Criminal Justice Sector. Key Accountabilities Communication – effectively communicate with PPS colleagues, district and national office staff, and external stakeholders. Decision Making – apply critical thinking to identify problems early and pursue effective solutions. Planning and Prioritising – manage time, priorities and responsibilities. Commitment to excellence – use Office Management, Justice Sector databases and processes, and knowledge of key New Zealand Statutes. Individual Responsibility and Accountability – be accountable for performance and development. Enabling through self-leadership – seek opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and experience.
