Reference: 6914258 Our Community and Engagement group plays a crucial role in promoting positive on‑ground environmental change in the community. You'll be working to support the team with the many projects that are being delivered alongside our community. We need you to have a positive can‑do personality as we have some challenges ahead as the Council works to meet the community's aspirations and government requirements. This role is 37.5 hours per week, fixed term until 30 June 2028 . About you: You'll have a tertiary qualification in agriculture/farm production systems or environmental management, or a minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in freshwater management or related fields. A sound knowledge of all regulatory aspects of farm planning, including the Freshwater Farm Plan Regulations and the Southland Water and Land Plan (Appendix N), and strong communication skills with experience engaging farmers and growers. You will support farmers and growers on their journey toward farm plan certification. You will support the team with projects that deliver community‑focused environmental outcomes and contribute to the mission of “Working with Southland’s community to improve the environment”. An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range of $84,420 – $89,110. Applications close: 2 August 2026 .
