We’re looking for an experienced Subsurface Design Engineer to join our Subsea Vehicles team and play a key role in designing, developing and testing innovative AUV, ROV and UUV platforms. This is a hands‑on engineering role where you’ll work across concept design, prototyping, integration and field testing, helping bring cutting‑edge autonomous underwater systems to life. We’re pushing the boundaries of autonomous technology, and we’re looking for people who want to help shape what’s next. In This Role You’ll Design and develop AUV, ROV and UUV vehicle systems. Design vehicle frames, structural components and pressure vessels. Integrate payloads and subsea sensor systems. Develop new subsea vehicle concepts. Support prototyping, testing and field validation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience designing or developing AUVs, ROVs, UUVs or similar subsea vehicles. Strong CAD skills (Solid Edge or similar). Experience with subsea materials, hydrodynamics and pressure vessel design. Knowledge of underwater propulsion systems. Experience with CNC machining and 3D printing. Experience with subsea cabling, wiring looms and PCB integration. Strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative, hands‑on approach. Nice To Have CFD analysis for underwater vehicle optimisation. Offshore or marine operations experience. CAM programming. Open‑water deployment experience with AUV/ROV systems.
