Overview Duty Manager – Beachside Resort & Oceans Resort, Whitianga Join Our Team in the Coromandel. About the Role This is a hands-on leadership position where you will support the Resort Manager and oversee the day-to-day operations of the resorts. You’ll be a key point of contact for both guests and staff, ensuring exceptional service is delivered at every touchpoint. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise reception and housekeeping teams Ensure outstanding guest service from check-in to departure Manage guest enquiries, bookings, and complaint resolution Oversee daily operations including reservations, billing, and reporting Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety Support staff training, coaching, and performance Assist with administrative tasks and operational coordination Step in for after-hours management or overnight stays when required Promote local attractions and enhance guest experiences What We’re Looking For Passion for customer service and hospitality Previous experience in a supervisory or management role (hotel, restaurant, or similar) Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills Ability to remain professional under pressure and adapt to seasonal pace changes High attention to detail and personal presentation Confidence working independently and making decisions A hands-on, team-focused attitude Technical skills Experience with hotel/property management systems (RMS advantageous) Familiarity with POS systems and Online Travel Agents (OTAs) Basic financial reporting knowledge Bonus (not essential) Qualification in Hospitality, Tourism, or Hotel Management First Aid Certificate & Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Important Requirements Due to the seasonal nature of the business Availability is required over Christmas and New Year (including public holidays) Regular weekend work (typically one day per weekend) Limited annual leave during peak season (Dec–March) Flexibility to support after-hours operations when needed Why Join Us?
