Respiratory Fellow, Respiratory Medicine Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, Auckland City, NewZealand – Full‑time, on‑site position. This role begins August2026 and is a one‑year fixed‑term appointment. About the role Applicants will work 50% clinical and 50% research activities. Clinical duties include respiratory clinics and acute cover. The research component involves an investigator‑initiated project in bronchiectasis plus support for various pharmaceutical research studies. The position offers an opportunity to develop research skills. Key responsibilities Attend and manage respiratory clinics. Provide acute cover for the respiratory department. Lead an investigator‑initiated research project in bronchiectasis. Support respiratory pharmaceutical research studies. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary respiratory team. Qualifications Completed suitable training and experience in General Medicine and Respiratory Medicine. Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of NewZealand. About the team & location MiddleMouth Hospital is the main acute care hub for CountiesManukau district and an accredited 800‑bed teaching hospital. The Respiratory Medicine department offers sleep and oxygen services, pulmonary rehabilitation, acute and chronic non‑invasive ventilation, pulmonary hypertension, bronchoscopy, thoracoscopy, a fully equipped lung function laboratory, and a regional lung cancer service. It also provides interventional bronchoscopy, including EBUS, stents, cryobiopsy and endobronchial valves. Research interests include asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, and pleural diseases.
