Job Description
Overview Salt has partnered with a New Zealand fashion boutique renowned for its stylish collections. They are seeking a Temporary Merchandise Planning Assistant to provide key support to the Merchandise Planning team during a busy period. Location: Parnell office, Auckland (close to cafes, shopping and public transport). Salary: $34-$40 per hour + 8% holiday pay (depending on experience). Contract: 3-month temporary assignment, starting ASAP. Full-Time, Monday – Friday. Based at their headquarters; role supports the Merchandise Planners with administration, planning, reporting and stock management. The role involves maintaining data accuracy, preparing reports, and coordinating administrative tasks across Buying, Allocations, Marketing, Retail, and Supply Chain. It can be demanding at peak times but provides valuable exposure to a dynamic retail environment. Responsibilities Maintain and analyse weekly sales, stock, and trading reports to support business performance. Prepare data insights and reports to assist forecasting, range reviews, and commercial decision-making. Monitor product performance, identifying best sellers, slow-moving stock, and key trading opportunities. Support stock distribution and replenishment to ensure stores have the right products at the right time. Assist with promotions, markdowns, and clearance activity reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support planning cycles and business objectives. About You / Qualifications Experience with administration and reporting, ideally from a retail/fashion background. Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables). Interest in fashion, retail trends and customer behaviour. Organised and comfortable working to strict deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with data and reporting. Experience with POS, ERP, or merchandise planning systems is a plus, but not essential.
