Mō te tūranga | About the Role The Liquidity and Data squad delivers critical data platforms that underpin Westpac’s Finance and Treasury functions, including regulatory reporting and enterprise data services. As a Systems Analyst, you will be part of the team that will deliver our next generation of integrated enterprise applications that serve our Finance, Treasury and Regulatory operations. We need someone with a solid foundation in technical business analysis, who has a passion for solving complex problems and is extremely customer focused with a desire to embed quality and agile practices into their work. The purpose of this role is to provide analytics for the squad responsible for maintaining data pipelines Provide support to team members delivering workflows, data models and visualisations Communication, ensuring consistency of methods and delivering work that is understood, explainable and reusable wherever practical Working with stakeholders ensuring their requirements are captured, understood, and translating those requirements to the technical teams Ensuring alignment between delivery team and stakeholders Assist with discovery and right sizing work Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? Business Analysis Expertise: Proven experience (3+ years) delivering end-to-end business analysis across complex environments—from requirements definition through to implementation Data & Technical Capability: Strong experience working with data models and large datasets, with the ability to interpret and analyse data using tools or languages such as SQL, Spark, or Scala Solution Delivery Ownership: Demonstrated ability to assess solution options and manage requirements through the full lifecycle, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical delivery Multi-initiative Delivery: Comfortable working across multiple initiatives simultaneously, spanning strategic and tactical work at varying stages of maturity Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and effectively facilitate discussions with stakeholders. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: High standard of documentation and record keeping, with active contribution to knowledge management and continuous improvement practices. Additional Capabilities Experience working with integrated systems and data structures, including data messaging concepts. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices (e.g., user stories) and tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Financial services or risk domain experience (preferred). Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and meet delivery timelines. Continuous learning mindset with attention to detail and quality outcomes.
