If so, this role could be for you! We have a newly created role in the site‑based engineering team working across Mercury’s Geothermal power stations for a Control System Engineer. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team that provides engineering leadership and support to our operations and maintenance teams. Responsibilities The main purpose is to provide control systems and instrumentation engineering support to operations and maintenance teams. We know the right person will be keen to understand the process behind it all. This will be achieved by: Understanding plant performance and delivering process control solutions to maintain optimum availability, reliability and stability. Undertaking detailed troubleshooting to diagnose and improve plant control and instrumentation issues. Helping deliver a healthy portfolio of projects (Opex/Capex) for the sites. Developing and implementing long‑term asset management plans, which include risk reduction projects and enhancement opportunities. Qualifications Strong technical understanding of control systems and plant control networks, instrumentation and field devices, and process control applications. Experience in plant/control system design, risk assessment and commissioning of new or modified equipment. Experience in the following is preferable: Heavy industry, and experience in Hazardous/Explosive Areas specifically power generation. Process Control. Functional Safety. Specialised knowledge and skills including: Technical understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA, RTU's, control network security. Good understanding of higher‑level client/server environments and communication standards (TCP/IP, Modbus, Fieldbus).
