#J-18808-LjbffrLead NZTA’s infrastructure procurement function across one of NewZealand’s most significant infrastructure investment programmes. The position is based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Set the direction for strategic procurement, sourcing and supplier management across infrastructure projects and programmes, ensuring investment proposals are commercially sound, well‑planned and aligned to government expectations. \n
- Shape portfolio, programme and project‑level strategies to improve timeliness, delivery confidence and value for money across a $10B+ programme. \n
- Report to the National Manager Commercial Delivery and lead a sizeable procurement team. \n
- Collaborate with senior leaders, central agencies, suppliers and industry partners to strengthen procurement capability, supplier intelligence and market engagement. \n
- Drive procurement capability development and strengthen supplier intelligence and market engagement. \n

- Extensive experience of current procurement best practice in NewZealand and internationally, with application of best practice procurement approaches. \n
- Proven infrastructure sector experience and strong understanding of the infrastructure planning, procurement and delivery lifecycle. \n
- Proven procurement leadership experience in commercially complex environments, preferably with a background in transport infrastructure. \n
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to identify, conceptualise and navigate strategic commercial opportunities. \n
- Deep understanding of government procurement and assurance requirements, including financial processes, budget and contract management. \n
- Excellent communication, relationship management and influencing skills across internal and external stakeholders. \n
- Demonstrated willingness to engage with Te Ao Māori, support NZTA’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and contribute to an inclusive workplace. \n
