Make a difference for Tamariki and Rangatahi as a Resource Worker Casual Family Home Support Workers (Resource Workers) Auckland Region Hourly rate $26.00 per hour (as and when required for short or block assignments) Oranga Tamariki is dedicated to putting tamariki and rangatahi at the heart of everything we do and say. We are seeking several Casual Family Home Support Workers (Resource Workers) for the Auckland region to provide support services. You will play an important part in a very rewarding role. Responsibilities Support in staff-run and caregiver-run family homes to care for tamariki when they are not living with their whānau. Shifts can vary from day support hours through to overnight shifts, including week-long blocks. Transport tamariki to and from school, appointments, activities, and respite. Confidence driving and familiarity with the Auckland region preferred. Weekend work will be required. Qualifications Flexibility to work varying hours during the week and weekends, and to changing priorities. Strong people skills, patience, and the ability to see past what tamariki may be struggling with. Experience with tamariki that may have complex needs. Discretion, tolerance and understanding to earn the trust of tamariki. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience and prepare accurate reports or incident records. Act as a positive role model with ethical conduct. Ability to work in New Zealand and hold a full, clean current NZ driver’s license. Ability to pass background checks, including police and Oranga Tamariki vetting (the clean slate scheme does not apply to the police vetting for this role).
