Christchurch, City Campus Permanent, Part time (30 hours per week) Provide customer focused, and effective admission and enrolment services Support learners with applications, admissions, and enrolments across their study journey Deliver accurate, timely admin services in a busy, learner‑focused environment Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role As an Admissions Administrator, you'll play an important part in helping learners begin and continue their study journey at Ara. You'll work with prospective and current learners, academic teams, and colleagues across the organisation to ensure applications, admissions, enrolments, and re‑enrolments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will assess applications, follow up documentation, manage enrolment processes, and work with programme teams to resolve enrolment queries. You'll enjoy building relationships, solving problems, and finding ways to make processes smoother for both learners and staff. This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering excellent service, and can balance attention to detail with a genuine focus on people. You will be part of a supportive team that works together to provide a seamless admissions and enrolment experience while promoting the benefits of study at Ara. This is a part‑time role, working 30 hours across four days each week between Monday and Friday, from 8.00am to 4.30pm. We are open to discussing which days you would work. Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience This role would suit someone with strong administration experience who can manage competing priorities, work accurately in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm when things get busy. You'll be comfortable navigating systems and processes, have advanced Microsoft Office skills and be confident learning new technology. You'll also bring: NZ Certificate in Business Administration Level 3 / Level 4 or equivalent knowledge gained through experience Experience in a customer‑facing role, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent service Experience in a tertiary or regulatory environment Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly understand what someone needs through listening and asking the right questions A high level of organisation, attention to detail, and personal accountability The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and contribute positively to a team environment An adaptable, solutions‑focused approach and a willingness to embrace new processes and ways of working An appreciation of working with people from diverse backgrounds, along with cultural awareness and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori.
