Healthcare Assistant - Acute Medical Assessment 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week),Permanent Role Rostered shifts - Monday toSunday, Morning, Afternoon and Nights HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of TeTiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. Aboutthe Role Weare looking for an enthusiastic and committed Healthcare Assistant to join ourteam in Acute Medical Assessment (AMA). HealthcareAssistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting theclinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant, your duties in AMA will includeassisting nursing staff with patient cares, providing enhanced therapeuticobservation and stocking supplies whilst maintaining a safe and clean workenvironment within the ward. Aboutthe Service Acute MedicalAssessment is a 33/34 bed, fast-paced, high patient turn over environment withinthe General Medicine service. Patients presenting with acute medical conditionsare admitted from the Emergency Department as well as direct from GeneralPractice. Patients are assessed, treatment commenced and are then eitherdischarged or transferred to an inpatient ward. AboutYou Weare looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, a positiveattitude, and the ability to use their initiative. You will work alongside adiverse multi-disciplinary team and follow a roster that covers all shiftsMonday to Sunday. Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon andNights Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail, use of initiative andproblem-solving skills Excellent time management skills and willingness tolearn Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment andprioritising tasks as clinical needs change Comfortable working with patients with Dementia,Delirium and other cognitive deficits Ability to work effectively as part of amulti-disciplinary team Previous healthcare experience is desirable but notessential HealthNew Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare forthe people of New Zealand.
