About the role

Peryer Construction is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to lead its small finance function and oversee endtoend financial operations. This handson senior role includes leadership responsibility, system ownership and close collaboration with Directors and project teams.

Key tasks & responsibilities

• Lead and support the Accounts Assistant
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, retentions, fixed assets and supplier relationships
• Maintain Xero and Smoothx data integrity and Procore integrations; keep financial master data and SOPs up to date
• Perform bank reconciliations, monthend and yearend preparation; provide timely financial reporting and analysis to Directors
• Process payroll for all employees and manage statutory compliance: GST, PAYE, RWT, ACC, provisional tax and IRD filings
• Monitor cashflow, advise Directors of financial risks and support project teams with Procore/Xero mapping
• Improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls and maintain confidentiality

What you will bring

• Demonstrated senior accounts/finance experience and proven leadership
• Strong Xero skills; Procore experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Solid knowledge and experience managing and processing payroll and taxation obligations
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail, ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Professionalism, confidentiality, a continuousimprovement mindset and strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Construction industry experience would be great, but not essential
