Job Description Product Specialist - Power Systems & SCADA Hamilton / Christchurch Based | Highly specialised technical role This is not a traditional sales role. It's an opportunity for a technically credible power systems specialist who can talk confidently with engineers, solve complex problems and recommend solutions that genuinely deliver. Our client is seeking a Product Specialist with strong knowledge of RTU, SCADA and power data acquisition technologies. You'll become a trusted technical adviser to lines companies, consultants and engineering teams, supporting customers from initial solution design through to configuration, implementation and ongoing support. The Role You will: Lead the technical side of the sales process Understand customer requirements and recommend fit-for-purpose solutions Provide expert support for SCADA, RTU, gateway and data acquisition products Identify configuration issues and advise on improvements or additional products Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations and product training Support consultants to specify best-in-class solutions Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and technical partners Keep ahead of emerging products, features and industry developments What You'll Bring You'll have strong practical knowledge across several of the following: Real-time systems within the power sector SCADA, ADMS, DMS, OMS or IMS platforms RTUs, PLCs, gateways and data acquisition systems IEC 61850, DNP3, GOOSE and ICCP protocols Device configuration and commissioning IP network infrastructure and cybersecurity principles Monitoring, data logging and communications technologies You may come from a lines company, power utility, automation or industrial electrical background. You could be an Electrical Engineer, Automation Electrician, SCADA Specialist or an experienced technical professional who has built their expertise through years of hands-on work. Formal qualifications are welcomed, but extensive real-world experience and genuine technical credibility will carry just as much weight.
