Job Description

Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher Te reo Māori Glendowie College is seeking a teacher of Te Reo Māori for a full time, permanent position. There is the possibility of permanent part time for a suitable applicant. This is an exciting opportunity for a new person to join our dynamic, supportive and well‑resourced team. This position will start immediately or at a mutually agreed date. We are a co‑educational college that places our learners at the centre. We value whakawhanaunatanga and building strong relationships towards our vision to ‘empower ākonga to experience success, ready to embrace their future.’ We have high academic expectations of our students, while also supporting them to develop as confident, articulate, resilient and globally aware young people. In Years 9 and 10, we offer students an engaging and challenging International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). Language acquisition is highly valued within the MYP, therefore the learning of a second language is a compulsory part of the programme. Previous experience of MYP is not required as support and training is provided. In Year 11 we offer our own innovative Year 11 programme which is designed to prepare students for success in NCEA Levels 2 and 3, and Scholarship.
