0.5 FTE (20 hours per week), Permanent Role. Rostered shifts – Monday to Sunday, Morning, Afternoon and Night. Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Healthcare Assistant to join our team in Acute Medical Assessment (AMA). Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. About the Service Acute Medical Assessment is a 33/34 bed, fast‑paced, high patient turnover environment within the General Medicine service. Patients presenting with acute medical conditions are admitted from the Emergency Department as well as direct from General Practice. Patients are assessed, treatment commenced and are then either discharged or transferred to an inpatient ward. Responsibilities Assist nursing staff with patient care activities. Provide enhanced therapeutic observation. Stock supplies and maintain a safe and clean work environment within the ward. Support the clinical team in a fast‑paced setting. Qualifications and Skills Ability to work all shifts – Morning, Afternoon, and Night. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, use of initiative and problem‑solving skills. Excellent time‑management skills and willingness to learn. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and prioritising tasks as clinical needs change. Comfortable working with patients with dementia, delirium, and other cognitive deficits. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential.
