About the Role Oxford Community Hospital is a 15‑bed community facility providing hospital level continuing care of the elderly, palliative care and respite care for the local community. The role is 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) and is permanent. As part of a 24/7 roster that includes weekend and night shifts, you will work with a friendly, cohesive team to deliver expert nursing care to patients. The position supports the wider Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury rural health team and is open only to current staff of Health New Zealand. Responsibilities Assess and provide nursing care to elderly patients in a community setting. Work autonomously and lead a small, cohesive team. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and local on‑site leadership. Adhere to a 24/7 roster, including weekend and night shifts. Maintain accurate clinical records and follow Health New Zealand policies. Qualifications Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. Current Advanced Practice Certificate (APC). Experience working in aged care desirable. Exceptional assessment skills, strong communication and time‑management abilities. Ability to engage a variety of people, be enthusiastic, motivated and passionate about community service.
