Jacobs is seeking a Senior Associate or Principal Architect to join our growing Healthcare Architecture studio and play a key leadership role in the delivery of major hospital redevelopment projects across Aotearoa. Working as part of Health New Zealand’s Regional Hospital Redevelopment Programme, you will help shape some of the country’s most significant healthcare projects. Jacobs is currently leading redevelopment work across Tauranga, Palmerston North and Hawke’s Bay Hospitals, with projects progressing through planning and design development phases today and construction on the horizon. Healthcare architecture is about more than buildings. Here’s what you’ll need You bring experience delivering large and complex projects in NZ or Australia, strong leadership capability and a passion for creating outstanding outcomes through design. While healthcare experience is highly regarded, we are equally interested in architects from other complex sectors including civic, education, transport, infrastructure and major public projects. Most importantly, you will enjoy balancing design leadership, technical delivery, client engagement and team development, while helping bring ambitious projects from vision to reality. Ideally, you’ll bring Registered Architect status or equivalent professional qualifications. Significant experience delivering complex healthcare projects, or projects within similarly regulated and technically complex environments. A strong understanding of planning, design and project delivery processes. Proven experience building trusted client relationships and engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders. The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across multiple technical disciplines. Strong commercial awareness and experience contributing to successful project outcomes. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build confidence with clients and project teams.
