Industrial Paint Assistant – Night Shift Location: Hastings, Hawke's Bay Start Date: Immediate Start Pay Rate: $28 to $32 per hour (depending on experience) + weekly pay We're looking for a reliable Industrial Paint Assistant to join a busy night shift team working on heavy industrial steel coatings. If you've had experience with industrial painting, abrasive blasting, or surface preparation and want to build your skills in a specialised industry, this is a great opportunity. You’ll be supporting experienced Industrial Painters on large engineering projects, helping keep production moving while learning from a skilled team. What You’ll Be Doing Assisting Industrial Painters throughout the coating process. Mixing paints and coatings to the correct specifications. Preparing surfaces for blasting and painting. Supporting abrasive blasting and coating operations. Masking, cleaning, and preparing steel components. Maintaining equipment and keeping the work area clean. Following quality procedures and health & safety standards. Working permanent night shift in a busy workshop environment. What We’re Looking For Some experience in industrial painting, spray painting, or sandblasting. Experience working in engineering or heavy industrial environments preferred. Physically fit and comfortable with hands‑on work. Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Able to follow instructions and work well within a team. Full Class 1 licence preferred with reliable transport. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and have a clean MOJ check.
