About the role:

Stantec's Water team in New Zealand has an impressive portfolio of successful projects that benefit communities nationwide. Our water focus covers the management of drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater as a collective resource. Finding solutions to our water challenges is crucial, and our diverse local network of over 360 water specialists collaborates and innovates to ensure the best outcomes are achieved.

With substantial project wins and an extensive backlog of work, we have an opportunity for an experienced senior hydraulic modeller to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to help further build our national modelling team, which unites our 3 Waters modelling capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work on significant projects both nationally and internationally, and with a diverse range of project teams

In this role you will provide appropriate technical solutions and advice and support to project managers and team leaders to ensure projects are appropriately managed and client requirements are met with project including

  • Drainage network projects, including model build, calibration, system performance and options analysis

  • Feasibility studies

  • Concept designs

  • Development of risk-based support tools

Key aspects of the role will include:

  • Provide technical leadership for modelling projects, including model development, calibration, system performance assessment, options analysis, and QA/QC.

  • Deliver technical expertise to develop fit-for-purpose engineering solutions, including site investigations, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.

  • Support business development by preparing proposals, expressions of interest and contributing to client engagement activities.

  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering their technical and professional development.

About you:

You will have relevant Bachelor's degree, 8 years working experience. You will be fluent with InfoWorks ICM, as well as GIS packages such as ArcGIS. Experience in other software is desirable but not essential. Experience with data analytics, coding and data visualisation also desirable.

You will need to be progressive, have enthusiasm for innovative thinking and be willing to be actively involved in the wider Asia Pacific Stantec network planning community.
