Senior Product Manager (Technical) (CCCFA)

At ASB, our purpose is to accelerate progress for all New Zealanders. We’re looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to join our Home Loans practice and play a key role in shaping the performance, governance and ongoing evolution of our home loan products.

This is a senior, technically oriented Product Manager role with a strong focus on product governance, performance monitoring and technical product leadership. You’ll bring deep expertise across home loan products, models, calculators and fees, and work closely with teams across the business to ensure our products deliver strong customer and commercial outcomes.

This role is intentionally positioned as technical and will suit someone with senior-level product capability and a strong analytical or Senior Business Analyst–style skillset, alongside solid product management experience.

• Lead the development and delivery of product strategies and roadmaps for the home loan portfolio

• Own and lead product governance activities, including product and model reviews and ongoing performance monitoring
\n
• Act as a subject matter expert across home loan products, models and fees, ensuring clear documentation and traceability of changes
\n
• Partner with stakeholders to define business problems, requirements and solutions, translating complexity into clear, actionable outcomes
\n
• Lead and implement go‑to‑market product enhancements and optimisations that drive customer engagement and profitability
\n
• Manage product risk in line with ASB’s risk management framework and customer experience expectations
\n
• Coach and mentor Product Managers and Associate Product Managers, contributing to a strong, collaborative product culture
\n
• Deep technical knowledge of home loan products, models, calculators and fees
\n
• Strong experience with requirements elicitation, process analysis and connecting complex information
\n
• Advanced communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
\n
• Strong numerical, financial analysis and presentation skills
\n
• Sound understanding of the New Zealand financial services regulatory environment
\n
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in product management, product analysis or delivery within a complex organisation

• A curious, pragmatic and collaborative mindset, with a passion for building better products
