2026/2027 Intern - Tax & Business Advisory - Auckland

On a day-to-day basis, you will work alongside Partners, Managers, and Senior Consultants on projects that involve technical tax and accounting advice, preparation of financial statements and tax returns, tax advisory and structuring, and management accounting. The team also helps analyse business operations and tax strategies to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies for growth and efficiency.

• Work closely with clients to navigate complex tax, accounting and business issues, present solutions and provide insights
\n
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and tax returns
\n
• Assist with technical advice regarding financial reporting, tax, business structures, systems and processes
\n
• Develop skills in cloud-based systems such as Xero and Taxlab, and support clients' finance functions
\n
• Interpret, analyze and research technical tax issues
\n
• Gain experience and knowledge in a wide range of areas including Corporate Tax, Private Tax Advisory, International Tax, Tax Policy, Indirect Tax, M&A Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Research & Development
\n

We are looking for:

\n
• Currently completing a degree with a passion for business. A Commerce or Law degree is advantageous but not essential.
\n
• Eligibility to work towards Chartered Accountancy or CPA is common but not required.
\n
• An analytical mind, detail-oriented, with a passion for problem solving and comfort with numbers.
\n
• A driven and intellectually curious person with strong interpersonal and communication skills and emotional intelligence.
\n
• No previous experience required. Part-time positions or internships in accounting, finance, customer-service, retail, or hospitality are beneficial.
