Lecturer Nutrition & Dietetics

Job Title 2 x Lecturer/Senior Lecturer — Nutrition and Dietetics, Albany – Acting as 1.0 FTE per role. Positions commence January 2027 and are ongoing, based on the Albany campus. FTE Details 1.0 FTE for a Dietitian with experience and expertise in Medical Nutrition Therapy. 1.0 FTE for a Dietitian with experience and expertise in Public Health Nutrition. The School of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition is highly ranked (top 150 worldwide) and offers a highly regarded, accredited Dietetics qualification. The role contributes to teaching and research in Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Teaching and Learning Lead the respective Dietetics domain (Medical Nutrition Therapy or Public Health Nutrition) in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, assessment of courses, and contribute to other courses within the Nutrition and Dietetics specialisations. Cultural Safety Strengthen nutrition and dietetics education and practice by integrating Te Ao Māori, mātauranga Māori, tikanga, and cultural safety within courses and programmes. Research Contribute to grant applications, a vibrant research culture, and supervise postgraduate research projects. Salary Range Lecturer: $86,113 – $109,901 NZD Senior Lecturer: $107,916 – $152,711 NZD Qualifications NZ Registered Dietitian with a current annual practising certificate (APC). A PhD or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field. Experience in tertiary-level teaching, curriculum development, and blended teaching approaches, including online technologies. Knowledge of Te Ao Māori, mātauranga Māori, tikanga, and cultural safety; skills in developing curriculum. Excellent communication in inter-disciplinary teams. Demonstrated engagement forming relationships with nutrition and dietetics leaders, iwi partners, and external stakeholders. Ability to lead and contribute to research projects using a range of methodologies. Ability to supervise doctoral students in mixed methods; advantage if knowledge of Kaupapa Māori / indigenous methodologies.
