Responsibilities Provide support on the development of teaching and learning programmes, including assessment practices, to support the implementation of government curriculum priorities and improve learning outcomes for all students. Identify and deliver high‑quality curriculum to meet the diverse educational needs of all students, with a specific focus on equitable achievement of student learning outcomes. Support early learning services, kura and schools to work alongside whānau, hapū and iwi to reflect the aspirations of their tamariki in teaching and learning programmes. Build collaborative networks within communities and actively share good practices. Qualifications Strong, proven curriculum design expertise and a deep working knowledge and recent practical experience in schools is essential. Secondary knowledge and experience would be an added advantage. Please state your area of expertise in your application. Extensive knowledge and recent experience in teaching and learning, leadership, and curriculum and assessment theory and practice, with an ability to support professional change in education settings. Experience with te ao Māori and understanding of Te Reo, tikanga and mātauranga Māori. An understanding of design thinking as it relates to designing inclusive and accessible learning. A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system‑level decision making. Strong knowledge and understanding of education contexts at a practical level. Strong diplomacy, interpersonal and facilitation skills, with an ability to adapt to different interaction styles and contexts. A full current driver’s licence as travel will be required. The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct. Benefits Salary range: $100,296 - $121,490 per annum + KiwiSaver. Location: Whangarei, NZ.
