About the Role Physiotherapist – START (Permanent, Full time – 80 hours per fortnight, rostered shifts) based in Rotorua. Supported Transfer and Accelerated Rehab Team (START) is an early supported discharge programme that accepts referrals for patients who are medically cleared and can be discharged home earlier than previously possible with an individualised care plan and intensive holistic support. START provides up to four visits a day, 7 days a week across Rotorua and Taupo using Health Care Assistants with oversight from Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and input from Medicine / Geriatricians and other specialties such as Speech and Language Therapy. START is part of Lakes Integrated Community Health Service (LICHS), which includes Needs Assessment and Service Coordination services and District/Community Nursing. Responsibilities Conduct physiotherapy assessments and deliver rehabilitation interventions for stroke patients and community members. Provide up to four visits per day, seven days a week, as part of the START programme. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (Nurses, OT, Medical staff, and Speech & Language Therapy) to develop and implement individualized care plans. Attend daily handover meetings and participate in weekly Inter‑Professional Team (IDT) meetings led by a Nurse Practitioner. Manage the START physiotherapy workload and contribute to the community PT team workload. Qualifications NZ Registered Physiotherapist. Current Allied Health Practitioner (APC) registration. Current New Zealand Driver’s License. Independent and collaborative working skills within a multidisciplinary team. Broad experience in physiotherapy, stroke rehabilitation, and strong assessment skills. Strong work ethic and flexibility to adapt to various shifts, including weekends. Benefits Competitive salary.
