Job Description

Conveyor Technician / Splicer Hands‑on conveyor technician / splicer role, ideal for curious and mechanically minded people. You’ll work across a wide range of industries in New Zealand – from food manufacturing and horticulture to timber, civil works and construction – performing light‑weight conveyor operations as well as installation, repair, and service of conveyor belts. Compensation Hourly rate with incentives, overtime after 40 hours, on‑call allowance, and monthly bonuses for KPI achievement. Annual pay reviews and additional benefits such as discounts and free flu shots. Responsibilities Production of conveyor belts and general fabrication Installation of conveyor belts (lightweight and heavyweight applications) Joining belts by hot vulcanizing, cold bonding, and fastener methods Rubber lining and fabrication of rubber components Repair and service of conveyor belts; assist on‑site work as required Quality control of manufactured products Accurately measuring and cutting a variety of conveyor belts and hoses Checking inwards goods and dispatching as required Regular use of equipment and machinery (e.g. Vulcanizing Press Machine, High Frequency Welding Machine, Teflon Belt Machine, etc.) Qualifications Excellent mechanical aptitude and clear verbal communication Team player, reliable and willing to travel outside the standard territory Availability for after‑hours shifts, call‑outs, and overtime Valid driver’s licence Strong customer service skills Ability to follow procedures, systems and solve problems independently Physical fitness to meet role requirements Strong awareness and adherence to safety and wellbeing practices Benefits & Development Attractive pay package and tools of the trade Opportunity to join a progressive global company with growth across the Asia Pacific region Ongoing training and career development programs Inclusive culture embracing diversity and equity Employee assistance program with counselling services Equal Opportunity Statement GPC conducts its business without regard to sex, race, creed, color, religion, marital status, national origin, citizenship status, age, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, military status, status as a veteran, or any other protected characteristic.
