Role Description The Maintenance & Assets Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Tekapo responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure at Tekapo Springs. Day-to-day tasks include planning and supervising maintenance activities, coordinating preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring timely repairs across pools, spa facilities, recreational equipment, and building systems. The role involves managing maintenance staff and contractors, monitoring maintenance budgets, and maintaining accurate records of work performed and parts used. The Maintenance Manager will also collaborate closely with operations, health and safety, and hospitality teams to minimize downtime, support guest satisfaction, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This position requires a hands-on approach, regular inspections, and prompt response to maintenance issues as they arise. Qualifications Strong Maintenance Management and leadership skills to lead a team, allocate resources, and coordinate daily maintenance operations. Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and support reliable functioning of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems. Preventive Maintenance skills to develop schedules, implement maintenance plans, and reduce unplanned equipment failures. Relevant trade qualification, engineering or building services background, or equivalent experience in facilities maintenance is highly beneficial. Knowledge of health and safety standards, risk management, and compliance within hospitality, recreation, or aquatic environments is advantageous. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to work on-site, respond to emergencies, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
