Job Description
Overview Shape decisions that shape New Zealand. Our Strategy team partners with leaders across the public and private sector to solve significant challenges from economic transformation and sustainability to commercial strategy, investment decisions and future-facing policy. We work with organisations to define where they need to go next, and build the roadmap to get them there. As a strategy intern, you will be part of a team that tackles high-impact, high-complexity problems from day one. You will work across Strategy, Commercial Advisory, Sustainability and Economics, gaining exposure to different disciplines while building a powerful, future-proof analytical skillset. Responsibilities Break down complex strategic questions and develop insights that guide executive decisions Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to uncover trends, commercial value, economic impacts or future risks Help build investment cases, commercial strategies, sustainability pathways, or system-level transformation programmes Contribute to client discussions by preparing sharp, persuasive material for senior leaders Work in small, agile teams with ownership and visibility from the outset Participate in interviews and workshops with stakeholders to understand root causes and codesign solutions Collaborate across Deloitte to bring leading thinking, innovation and global perspectives to clients Be front and centre in the work due to small team sizes, with opportunities to grow quickly as an analyst and strategic thinker Who you are Think critically and enjoy dissecting complex problems Communicate clearly, logically and with influence Enjoy working with data and can translate analysis into insight Have demonstrated leadership or initiative Have an excellent academic record Are ambitious, driven and want to make a real impact for clients, your team and your career Why Strategy at Deloitte You'll join a team that values curiosity, rigour and creativity, and is passionate about solving problems that matter for New Zealand—from investment decisions shaping infrastructure to strategies enabling a more sustainable and resilient future.
