About this role Forensic helps clients identify, prevent and respond to complex business challenges, often involving integrity, fraud, financial crime, disputes and investigations. We bring together a combination of accounting, analytics, technology and investigative expertise to help organisations navigate risk, uncover insights and respond with confidence. Our team works with clients across a broad range of industries, including Financial Services, Government & Public Sector, Energy & Infrastructure, Telecommunications, Healthcare and Consumer & Industrial Products. We are a diverse team of more than 30 professionals across New Zealand who support organisations through some of their most complex and high‑profile challenges. We are looking for driven and intellectually curious graduates who are excited by solving complex problems and developing a broad forensic skill set. We are particularly interested in candidates with strengths in accounting, finance, commerce, data analytics, statistics, technology or related disciplines. You don't need expertise in every area. We're looking for people with strong analytical capability, a willingness to learn and the ambition to build their skills across a variety of forensic engagements. Whether your strengths are in accounting, analytics, or a combination of both, you'll have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and develop the core capabilities needed to support investigations, disputes, financial reviews, risk assessments and data‑driven problem solving. Your typical day will include Employing cutting‑edge technology and analytical techniques to examine accounting records, financial statements, source documents and datasets to identify inconsistencies, anomalies and key insights. Working on a range of engagements across different sectors and industries that require forensic accounting, investigative and analytical services. Using data analytics tools to clean, aggregate, join and analyse large amounts of data, helping to solve complex client problems and reveal meaningful insights. Developing core forensic capabilities while collaborating with experienced professionals across a variety of client engagements. You are someone with No previous experience required. Part‑time positions, internships or extracurricular activities that demonstrate analytical thinking, problem solving or commercial acumen are advantageous. Currently completing a bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Law or a related discipline. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an interest in using accounting, data and technology to solve complex business problems. An inquisitive mindset, a willingness to learn and the ability to quickly develop new skills and capabilities. A high level of motivation, curiosity and ambition, with the resilience to overcome challenges and adapt in a fast‑paced environment. Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and a collaborative approach to working with others.
