About the role The Older Persons Mental Health Community Team has a permanent, part‑time opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with comprehensive or psychiatric endorsement, who has a passion for working in mental health and enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of older persons. This role involves working directly with clients/tangata whai ora, whanau, NGO service providers, Primary Health sector and Aged Residential Care facilities, with the support of our wider Inter‑Disciplinary team. The role also involves working alongside the team at the referral centre as required, managing intake and acute situations. Responsibilities Provide direct care to older persons in mental health settings. Collaborate with clients, whanau, NGOs, Primary Health sector, and Aged Residential Care facilities. Manage intake and acute situations at the referral centre. Develop individual management plans promoting client‑centred goals. Qualifications Registered Nurse with comprehensive or psychiatric endorsement. Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC. Current New Zealand driver’s licence and NZ practising certificate. Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, and fastidious attention to documentation. Ability to remain calm under pressure and conduct dynamic risk assessment in crisis situations. Suitable IT skills are a bonus. Work Conditions 1.0FTE, permanent, full‑time, Monday – Friday.
