Job Description

Job Overview Experienced QC Technician wanted for a 6‑month FMCG contract at a leading manufacturing site in Wiri, Manukau. This role requires quick adaptation in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct sampling and analytical and sensory testing of in‑process and finished products in accordance with laboratory manuals and SOPs. Identify and escalates out‑of‑specification (OOS) results and support timely corrective actions. Ensure QC and Micro Laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and within calibration requirements. Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable testing records and documentation. Support timely product release by completing testing accurately and within required timeframes. Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives to improve laboratory efficiency and quality systems. Maintain Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), 5S housekeeping, and audit‑ready laboratory standards. Support the QC Team Leader with daily laboratory operations and step into the role when required. Follow all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements and contribute to a zero‑harm workplace. Maintain required training, competency certifications, and technical knowledge. Collaborate with Production, Planning, Logistics, and Engineering teams to support quality and manufacturing outcomes. Work in accordance with HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and company quality systems and procedures. About You Previous experience in a QC Technician, Laboratory Technician, Quality, or similar role. Experience within FMCG, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or another regulated manufacturing environment. The ability to hit the ground running and confidently work with minimal training. Experience conducting analytical, sensory, sampling, or quality testing. Knowledge of GLP, GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, or ISO 17025 quality systems. Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills. The ability to identify quality issues and escalates OOS results appropriately. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. A proactive approach to quality, health and safety, and continuous improvement. Flexibility and reliability to work a rotating 3‑shift roster. A relevant qualification in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Science, or a related discipline is preferred. Shift Roster Morning: 5:00 am – 1:30 pm Afternoon: 1:30 pm – 9:30 pm Night: 9:00 pm – 5:30 am Benefits 6‑month contract with the opportunity to join a leading FMCG manufacturing environment.
